Verschiedene Statements der kalifornischen Punkrocklegende Hot Water Music der letzten Tage widersprechen sich teilweise, es scheint jedoch so, dass sich die Band aufgelöst hat. Lest bei uns einige Auszüge aus den Kommentaren. Noch am 10. Mai wird auf der Bandhomepage beteuert, die Band existiere weiter und man lege lediglich eine Pause ein:

„First of all, Hot Water Music is not breaking up. For better or worse, it’s pretty damn doubtful that we ever will end the band. We will, however, be taking an extended break due to the fact that Chuck has decided to concentrate on life off of the road for an as-of-yet undetermined amount of time.“

Derweil will man die Neben- oder eben auch Nachfolgeband The Draft weiter voran treiben:

„As for Chris, George, and myself, we just can’t get enough of driving across Texas on I-10 so we’re going to keep fighting the good fight. New songs, new name, new band. And man are we fucking stoked about it. We’ve already written almost an entire album’s worth of material and we’re not slowing down at all. We’ll keep you posted when things start getting off the ground a bit more.“

Das Magazin Intro meldet indessen, dass Chuck sich seiner Solokarriere widmen möchte.

Drei Tage nach obigem Statement, am 13. Mai, erscheint auf der Myspace-Seite der Band ein recht ausführliches weiteres Statement, in dem das Ende der Band bekannt gegeben wird:

„My friends, Hot Water Music as we all knew it is no longer. A great chapter in our lives has come to a close. We must say so long, and farewell. This is not to say by any means that we will never take a stage again together or find our way onto some tracks together, but where we are in our lives at this moment, it wont be anytime soon. „
